Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common newborn and sleep inquiries below
This period involves healing from childbirth, managing hormonal changes, and adjusting to motherhood. Postpartum care helps identify and address potential complications, such as postpartum depression, and provides guidance on breastfeeding, infant care, and self-care. It's essential for a smooth transition into motherhood and long-term well-being
What is the role of a newborn care specialist?
A newborn care specialist is a trained professional who provides hands-on care and support to new parents and their newborn babies. Their role is to help families adjust to the challenges and joys of parenthood, offering expertise in newborn care, feeding, sleep routines, and overall well-being. They provide practical assistance with tasks like diaper changes, bathing, and feeding, while also educating parents on infant development and addressing any concerns or questions they may have. By offering guidance and support, newborn care specialists help new parents feel more confident and capable in caring for their baby.
What is the difference between virtual sleep consulting or in-person sleep training?
Both virtual and in-person support offer valuable assistance for newborn care and sleep training. Here's a breakdown of the key differences:
In-Person Support:
Direct Observation: The consultant can directly observe the baby's behavior, feeding techniques, and sleep patterns.
Implement Sleep Plan: Overnight in-person 3-5 nights.
Hands-on Guidance: They can offer hands-on demonstrations and adjustments to feeding and sleep routines.
Personalized Attention: Tailored advice based on real-time assessment of the baby's needs.
Immediate Support: Quick responses to questions and concerns.
Virtual Support:
Flexibility: Convenient access to expert advice from anywhere.
Video Conferencing: Allows for real-time interaction and observation.
Written Plans and Check-Ins: Detailed plans and regular communication.
Community Support: Access to online communities and resources.
The answer is yes. It can fail if your baby or toddler isn't ready, or sick. The best way for sleep training to be successful is to look at the whole 24 hours and make the needed adjustments. It's not just about overnights and how you respond but making the naps and daytime feedings be enough oz so your baby will sleep longer stretches.
Will work on the days first and focus on the naps. Your baby or toddler maybe in a transition period so we may have to adjust your wake windows.
Our focus is the whole family. We will go over what your day and weeks look like and make sure to adapt a routine that fits your family. Sleep training or hiring overnight help is to make your life easier not harder. If we find your baby isn't following the plan will make the needed changes. We do require open communication.
